Odessa helps you access your full potency through embodiment & the expansion of consciousness. A trained modern dancer, she has been practicing & teaching Contact Improv for 9 years. She’s a ThetaHealing Instructor, bodyworker & therapist trainee at the Center for Somatic Psychotherapy. Odessa leads clients & groups to shift subconscious patterns & engage the physical, relational, emotional, & energetic aspects of being human through movement, inquiry, & play.
Using Contact Improv exercises & energy healing techniques, we’ll get grounded in our own bodies before experiencing the relational world of contact. We’ll learn to deepen & expand our empathic sense so that we can clearly communicate on the energetic level, on & off the dance floor. This practice of knowing our own bodies deeply before we tune in & attune to others has radical implications on how we engage with others in a consensual way.
Employing subtle & basic Contact Improv principals, we let our bodies tell us more about how, when & why we move towards & away from connection. We'll explore how to cultivate a deeper relationship with our ground & center through all of our relating, using movement & somatic exercises as ways to address & repair old body-based attachment wounding. Will include some neurobiological education about how attachment wounding is held in the body.
