After much consideration, we have decided to remove the vaccine requirement.
Testing prior to entry will still be required.
We believe that the current state of the pandemic no longer warrants the restrictions that were put in place in the summer of last year. At that time, we were facing a very different and more serious threat, and there is no doubt in our minds that requiring vaccination helped keep our events and community safe.
In the past couple of months, many events and venues (including very large ones) have been holding events without restrictions and we’ve been watching. So far, we have not heard about any uptick in cases following these events. Even the Department of Health of the State of California has ceased to mandate vaccination requirements for events of any size, indoor or outdoor.
In addition to the testing requirement, what else will SoulPlay do to keep us Covid safe?
- Event will be held mostly outdoors
- We recommend that people get tested upon their return from the event before interacting with vulnerable populations
- In the days leading up to the event, if anyone starts experiencing the onset of flu-like symptoms (fever, aches, chills, cough, sore throat, congestion, etc.), you should NOT attend SoulPlay. Refunds will be given if you must cancel due to being sick.
- All of the tickets that have already been sold are to people who are vaccinated so the likely percentage split between vax / non-vax will still be extremely high.
We appreciate that you might have feelings come up around this decision. We are open to receiving those with love. The best way to share is via email to firstname.lastname@example.org <3
We continue to monitor the evolving situation and will put in place whatever measures are needed to both comply with regulation and keep our community safe.
